Agility
Agility is an advanced tool for dog trainers and their dogs. Agility uses the natural swiftness of a dog and their keen ability to learn and listen to commands as given by the trainer.

Think of Agility as an obstacle course for dogs. Dogs are rated on their course time and also the accuracy of their course. Dogs are separated into several different categories according to their size.

Agility is, of course, a very athletic sport, but it takes a lot of concentration by both the dog and handler to run an Agility course! The course has to be run in the correct order of obstacles, correctly performed, and in the shortest time possible. Control and trust with your dog is essential to doing well in the Agility ring!

Agility is now acknowledged by all dog organizations and has become very competitive and popular over the last several years. Winnegamie Dog Club offers four levels of classes: Introductory, Advanced Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced. Learning takes time, but the rewards are great! Not only is it fun to compete in Agility, but it is another avenue of training for both you and your dog.
